As a courtesy, the Office of the County of Santa Clara Registrar of Voters (ROV) has prepared election related materials (Section 1); a sample resolution template for a candidate election, and an example resolution for candidate and measure elections (Section 2); and, an information sheet webform (Section 3) for your District to use to assist in preparation of an upcoming Special or General Election.

Please note that the ROV cannot give legal advice, including on the question whether your District can hold an election. Consequently, your District is encouraged to seek advice through its own legal counsel.
The statutory deadlines may differ per election; we recommend that you independently evaluate all deadlines and legal requirements. If you use the enclosed sample resolution template for your candidate election, please follow the instructions, provide the requested text highlighted in red font, and remove any yellow highlighted language.

The ROV will prepare a Notice of Election to be published in the San Jose Post Record (or the publication of your choice) based on your jurisdiction’s selection below. The ROV will also send the Notice of Election to your jurisdiction for official posting at your office.
